Using Worta
The terms that apply when you use the Worta website, app and services. Please read them before you get started.
Please read carefully
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Worta website, app and services operated by Prospera Finance Limited. By accessing or using Worta, you indicate your agreement to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website, app or services.
Please read these terms together with our Privacy Policy and any additional terms provided for a product, transaction, loan or terminal arrangement. Specific terms confirmed when you accept an arrangement apply to that arrangement.
Worta is a digital platform operated by Prospera Finance Limited. Banking services provided by Loma Microfinance Bank Limited.
Worta is not a bank.
Fintava is Loma’s technology arm, supporting the technology used to deliver the banking services available through Worta.
Deposits held with Loma Microfinance Bank Limited are distinct from funds managed under Prospera Finance Limited’s own arrangements. The provider and applicable terms of each product will be explained before you commit. Loma does not manage or guarantee every Worta product or return.
Worta brings together everyday money services, savings, deposit enquiries, loan requests and POS services. Access to a service depends on eligibility, verification and availability. Additional product terms may apply and will be provided before you accept the relevant arrangement. Read those terms together with these general terms.
You must be at least 18 years old and meet the requirements applicable to you in the jurisdiction in which you use the services. You must provide accurate, complete and current registration information and keep that information up to date.
Account registration takes place in the Worta app. This website helps you explore our services, understand how Worta works and contact our team.
Opening an account and access to particular services are subject to the applicable verification, eligibility and service requirements. Do not provide false or misleading information or use another person’s identity to register.
You are responsible for protecting your login credentials, password, transaction PIN and access to your device. Do not share your credentials or permit unauthorised access to your account. Keep your account information accurate and notify support if it changes or you believe it has been compromised.
Report suspected unauthorised account activity immediately through the app or support@worta.co. Worta staff will never ask you to disclose your password, transaction PIN or OTP. Do not provide these details in a support request, email or enquiry form.
For your protection, outgoing-payment limits are temporarily reduced for 24 hours after you sign in on a new device or change your transaction PIN. The app will show your temporary limit and when it ends.
Complete the in-app verification steps required for your account and the services you want to use. We or the relevant service providers may request additional necessary information to meet verification, security and legal requirements. Service access may be restricted while required checks remain incomplete.
Your verification tier determines the transaction and balance limits available to you. Your applicable limits are displayed in the app. You must have enough available money to cover a transaction and its charges. Funds reserved for a pending transaction cannot be used for another payment.
You must not use Worta for unlawful or fraudulent activity, to misrepresent your identity or authority, or to provide false or misleading information. You must comply with applicable law and the terms of the services you use.
Do not attempt unauthorised access to another account, the platform or related systems; interfere with security checks or normal operation; introduce harmful software; or use the services in a way that harms other users, service providers or the platform.
The following descriptions explain the available product types. Availability and eligibility apply. Selecting a product or submitting an enquiry does not mean that every product can be created or funded in the app.
SmartSave: Set money aside for a defined period, with the flexibility to add more funds.
Pro-Savings: Build your savings at your own pace, adding money whenever it suits you.
Target Plus: Set money aside towards a specific financial goal.
Deposit: Place a defined amount for an agreed period, with the applicable rate and payout terms explained before you commit.
Fixed Income Plus: Explore a longer-term placement with support from the Prospera Finance team.
Wealth Mandate: Speak with the Prospera Finance team about a tailored arrangement for larger amounts.
The applicable amount, duration, rate, charges and payout conditions will be provided before you commit funds.
Fixed Income Plus and Wealth Mandate are team-assisted enquiries. Speak with our team about the proposed arrangement and review the specific terms before deciding to proceed.
An enquiry does not create or fund a product.
Any return and payment entitlement depends on the applicable product terms. No guaranteed return is created by a general product description or an enquiry.
Fund your main wallet, choose an available plan and review its terms before confirming.
Early liquidation is subject to the conditions of your plan. Where available, applicable deductions and the amount payable will be shown before confirmation.
Plans with upfront interest are locked for the agreed term and cannot be liquidated early.
A transfer or withdrawal of available money from your main wallet is different from early liquidation of an active plan. Money placed in a plan becomes available in accordance with that plan’s conditions; a wallet transfer does not override a plan’s agreed term or liquidation restrictions.
At maturity, the principal and any interest due are paid into your main wallet. You can then choose to start another plan.
Maturity does not guarantee an automatic rollover into another plan. Review and accept the terms of any new plan you choose.
Explore SME and payroll loan options and estimate repayments. Eligible Tier 3 customers can submit a request through the app for assessment and team follow-up. A six-month bank statement may be provided to support the application, but it is optional. Submission does not guarantee approval.
Calculator results are estimates. Your final rate, charges and repayment schedule will be stated in your loan offer.
If an offer is made, review the full offer and repayment obligations before accepting. The terms of your accepted loan offer govern that loan.
Get a free POS terminal for your business, with no setup fee. Individual applicants need a BVN, NIN slip, utility bill, email address and phone number. Corporate applicants must also provide CAC registration documents. Applications are subject to verification and approval.
Start accepting payments once your terminal has been approved, configured, delivered and activated.
Any applicable processing charges and terminal-use conditions will be explained before you accept.
Request a payout against your available POS settlement balance. Requests are reviewed against settlement records before the approved amount is credited to your Worta wallet.
Request. Submit a payout request against the available POS settlement balance. A request is not the same as an approved payment.
Review. Requests are reviewed against settlement records before an amount is approved.
Payment. The approved amount is credited to your Worta wallet after review.
Check and confirm the recipient and transaction details before authorising a payment. Transaction statuses may include pending, successful, failed, reversed or disputed. Processing and checks may be required before the final status is established.
Some transactions may remain pending while processing or checks are completed. Check the transaction status before retrying. If you believe your balance or transaction details are incorrect, contact support with the transaction reference.
Applicable transaction charges are shown before you confirm a transaction. Product-specific fees are explained in the relevant product terms.
Calculator results and indicative offers are estimates. The terms confirmed when you accept a product or loan offer apply to that arrangement.
Any deduction from your balance must be authorised under the applicable agreement and law. We will explain the basis of an applicable deduction.
Contact support@worta.co or submit a request through the app. We will acknowledge your request and provide updates while it is being reviewed. Resolution time depends on the issue and any investigation required. Any applicable mandatory resolution timelines will continue to apply.
Report suspected fraud or unauthorised account activity immediately through our official support channels. Worta staff will never ask you to disclose your password, transaction PIN or OTP.
To raise a complaint or dispute, provide a clear description of the issue and any relevant case or transaction reference. You may contact support@worta.co or submit a request through the app. Do not include your password, transaction PIN or OTP. Help & Support provides practical guidance for common issues.
Worta branding, content and software, and related intellectual-property rights, belong to Prospera Finance Limited or its licensors. Use of the website, app or services does not transfer ownership of those rights to you.
You must obtain permission before reproducing, modifying, distributing or commercially exploiting protected branding, content or software, except where applicable law permits otherwise.
We aim to provide reliable services but do not guarantee that the website, app or services will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Access may be affected by maintenance, technical faults, security issues, external service interruptions or other events affecting delivery.
A temporary interruption does not itself change the agreed conditions of an existing product. Contact support if an interruption appears to have affected an account or transaction.
We may apply reasonable restrictions, suspend access or terminate an account where there is suspected fraud, false information, a breach of these terms, incomplete required verification or a legal requirement. The action taken will depend on the circumstances and applicable law.
Suspension or termination does not remove obligations arising from an existing transaction, product, loan or terminal arrangement. Remaining funds will be handled subject to the applicable agreement and law.
Any deduction from your balance must be authorised under the applicable agreement and law. We will explain the basis of an applicable deduction.
You can request account deletion through Settings in the app or by emailing support@worta.co. We will verify your identity before processing the request.
Before closure can be completed, remaining funds, active products, pending transactions, loans and terminal arrangements may need to be resolved. If anything prevents completion, we will explain the reason and the next steps.
Closing your account does not automatically erase all records. We retain information where required for legal, regulatory, fraud-prevention or dispute-resolution purposes and handle it in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
You may request a copy of your account and transaction records before closure.
Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used, shared, protected and retained in connection with Worta. Read it alongside these terms. For privacy rights or information-handling concerns, contact privacy@worta.co.
External websites linked from Worta may have their own privacy policies. Please review those policies before submitting information to them.
External-link guidance concerns websites you choose to visit independently. It does not remove our responsibilities for information processed by providers supporting Worta.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Prospera Finance Limited will not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from the use of the website, app or services.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your rights and protections under applicable law continue to apply.
We may update these general terms to reflect changes to the services or applicable requirements. We will notify you of material changes where appropriate. Continued use after a change takes effect indicates acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree, stop using the affected services, subject to any existing obligations and applicable account-closure requirements.
Changes to these general terms do not automatically change the agreed conditions of an existing fixed-term product.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute is subject to the applicable legal and dispute-resolution procedures. You may contact our support team to raise a concern without prejudice to rights available under applicable law.
